Let’s not judge this toy by it’s cover, that’s what we told ourselves when we opened the Animal Farm puzzle blocks. But even out of the box it looked simple, 9 blocks that form images of farm animals. So we took out each block and tried to figure out the other animals, one of the block acts as a guide and the rest are the puzzle pieces. Once out of the tray, it gives a good challenge to put back as each block has 6 different sides and orientation to figure out.
You can play this with your child in two ways, first is to remove all pieces and place the guide block in the tray for him to follow. Second is to put an image together, remove the guide block and slide the blocks around just like a sliding puzzle toy. There are other ways to play with it, feel free to be creative!
We loved how it fits snugly in it’s own tray, it’s all made of solid wood, so expect it to be heavier than your average wooden block toy. Once done with playing, teach your child to clean up and put everything in order.
We love it’s charming simplicity and potential, and we enjoyed our time playing with it! Next we are going to try the Transportation and Fruit Mart.
